Sales Engineer
**About Trellix**
Trellix is a global company redefining the future of cybersecurity. The company’s comprehensive, open, and native cybersecurity platform helps organizations confronted by today’s most advanced threats gain confidence in the protection and resilience of their operations. Trellix, along with an extensive partner ecosystem, accelerates technology innovation through artificial intelligence, automation, and analytics to empower over 50,000 business and government customers with responsibly architected security. More at https://trellix.com .
**_Role Overview:_**
Trellix is seeking a Sales Engineer to serve as the lead technical authority for our most strategic Majors and Enterprise accounts supporting the California market with additional coverage across the Western US. You will partner with our elite sales team to dismantle complex security silos and architect resilient ecosystems.
The ideal candidate for Trellix's Sales Engineer role isn’t just a technical expert; you are a visionary and a strategist. You understand the diverse economic engine of the Western United States—from the high-velocity innovation hubs of Northern California and the diverse enterprise landscape of Southern California to the rapidly scaling tech corridors across Arizona, Washington, and the Rockies. You can pivot seamlessly between deep-packet inspection and C-suite business value conversations, translating complex security telemetry into a narrative of resilience and growth.
**Key Responsibilities: The Strategic Win**
As a Sales Engineer (SE), you are the "Technical Closer." You will drive the following:
+ **Architectural Leadership:** Partner with Account Managers to design multi-vector security architectures (Cloud, Endpoint, Data, and Network) that solve the "too many tools" problem for complex, distributed organizations.
+ **The Technical Win:** Lead the end-to-end technical sales lifecycle—from initial discovery and "clean-sheet" whiteboard sessions to high-stakes solution demonstrations and winning complex RFPs.
+ **POC Orchestration:** Own the Proof of Value (POV) process. You won't just "run" a pilot; you will define the success criteria that prove Trellix’s superior ROI and technical efficacy in real-world environments.
+ **Strategic Influence:** Act as a bridge between the Western US market and our Product Management teams, ensuring that the unique requirements of our most innovative customers are reflected in the Trellix roadmap.
+ **Pipeline Partnership:** Contribute to regional sales strategy by identifying new use cases and participating in field marketing events that establish Trellix as a thought leader in the Pacific and Mountain regions.
**About You: The Expert Profile**
+ **Enterprise Veteran:** You have a proven track record (typically 7+ years) of managing technical sales for organizations with complex, hybrid-cloud infrastructures and modern, decentralized workforces.
+ **Subject Matter Mastery:** You possess in-depth knowledge of Endpoint security, SIEM/SOAR, and Cloud Security Architectures. You stay ahead of the curve on the evolving threat landscape and industry-specific compliance trends (such as CCPA).
+ **Western Region Fluency:** You are comfortable navigating a territory that spans California as a primary hub, along with key markets in Washington, Arizona, Oregon, New Mexico, and Colorado. You are prepared for the travel required to build face-to-face trust with key stakeholders across the region.
+ **Consultative Communicator:** You can translate "bits and bytes" into "business outcomes." You handle objections with poise and can navigate the virtual teams required to answer complex, multi-stakeholder RFIs.
+ **Hands-on Capability:** You maintain a "lab-ready" mindset, with the ability to configure, troubleshoot, and showcase Trellix products in diverse technical ecosystems.
**Territory Scope**
This role primarily supports the California market with additional coverage across the Western US, including Washington, Arizona, New Mexico, Oregon, Idaho, Iowa, and Colorado.
This position is paid (in part) on a commission basis. The Base Pay Range is $145,000 - $165,000. The On Target Earnings (OTE) Range (base pay plus on target commission) is $215,000 – $235,000. Actual base pay within the Base Pay Range and actual OTE within the OTE Range will depend on varying circumstances, including the work location, individual qualifications, company budget and other operational business needs. Compensation may also include long-term incentives, subject to various metrics and company policy.
