As Asset Accountant, you'll own all accounting operations for a 1,000+ vehicle fleet. This role is foundational to monthly close, audit readiness, fixed-asset accuracy, and fleet-level financial reporting. You'll manage the entire lifecycle of vehicle accounting—purchases, upfit costs, depreciation, insurance, incentives, and disposals—while maintaining a precise, audit-ready fixed asset register.
The role begins with Fleet Operations due to volume and complexity. As capacity allows, responsibilities expand into broader public-company accounting and assistant-controller-level work.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain and reconcile the fixed-asset register for 1,000+ vehicles including VINs, cost basis, depreciation, insurance, and related assets
• Own the monthly depreciation cycle and ensure journal entries tie accurately to ERP systems and the general ledger
• Track detailed vehicle cost basis (purchase price, upfit costs, rebates, incentives, eligibility criteria, etc.)
• Reconcile data across multiple systems including ERP, operational platforms, investment accounting systems, and Excel
